What GetWinRAR Is

GetWinRAR is an independent download mirror and resource site for WinRAR, the file archiver published by win.rar GmbH. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by win.rar GmbH — WinRAR and the RAR format are trademarks of their respective owner. Our purpose is narrow and practical: give people a fast, clearly labeled way to download the current official WinRAR installer, verify it's unmodified, and learn how to use it well.

How We Source and Verify Downloads

Every file this site links to is fetched directly from win-rar.com's own file servers — we do not host, modify, or repackage installers ourselves. Specifically:

SHA256 checksums shown on this site are computed directly from those official files, not estimated or copied from a third party.
Version numbers and changelog entries are cross-checked against WinRAR's own official changelog before publishing.

If win.rar GmbH ships a new version, our version numbers, file sizes, and checksums may briefly lag until we re-verify against the official source — we intentionally don't guess at unverified details.

How Our Guides Are Written

The guides on this site are written in-house, based on hands-on use of WinRAR and its official documentation. We aim for practical, step-by-step accuracy over marketing language — if a feature works differently than expected, we describe what actually happens, not what sounds best. Guides are revisited when a WinRAR release changes the behavior they describe.
